Moving

I would like to thank all the authors and publicists that sent me books. But, at this time please do not send me books. I have enough at the present time with moving. I appreciate all the books and emails from all of you but at the present time, I have to say, no thank you. I will let you know in a few weeks.

bookstore Adventure

My girlfriend Amy and I went out to lunch. We ate at the only Jewish deli in town. That is about 1/2 hour away. But, when you are from the south everything is distances. We both had Matzoh Ball Soup and a Juicy Brisket Sandwich. What a treat for any Jew.

Let me explain why we traveled that far for lunch. We live in the Grand Strand area of Horry County. The whole area is called Grand Strand it stretches from southern tip of North Carolina to Georgetown S.C.(close to Charleston, SC). There are several towns all around. There is Little River, North Myrtle Beach, Mrytle Beach, Surfside, Murrells Inlet, Garden City. All these small little towns emerge into one city(or area).

We then went to Litchfield books that I don't get to visit often because it is a ride. Usually I go once or twice a year. So, it was a real treat. Like going into the candy store. They are so nice there, they give you personal attention. Not, like Barnes and Noble. I like going in there by the recommendations of books they have read.

I have been good for the last few months. I have not bought any books. But going in the book store is like a little kid going in the candy store. Wow, what books they had. As soon as I walked in, I said, I want you, you, and you. I must counted 10 books I wanted within less than a minute.

I have not been there in a year. My girlfriend, she lives less that 10 minutes from there. She told me she has never bee there. How jealous I am, if I could live so close.

I usually don't walk out of the book store with less than 5. I actually did three that is pretty good. Here is the break down of the books I bought.

Forgotten Garden by Kathy Morton. It was between Forgotten Garden and Brooklyn. Forgotten Garden won hands down. The book seller would not let me walk out of the store with out Forgotten Garden I broke down.
The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermesiter
Finally, the book that I knew about for weeks. I found it. Particullary because I am a science major. This caught my eye.
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.

Engrossed Reading

I am reading Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult. The story is about a family, they have to decide to sue or not sue because of their daughter that has a chronic illness she was born with.

I am not going to tell you any further until I finish it. But I am engrossed. The hard part is to put it down in between studying and recreational reading. If I am going to read something good I don't like to be interupted.

Blog Posting, and Life Changes

I have not been posting often, because of life changes that will be happening soon. Between moving, which has been postponed now for a few months. David, going to boot camp in the upcoming month( April). Last, but not least, going to school. This has been quite a challenge already for the the first and second of the year.

I am a single mom, with a only child. It is going to be hard to let go. He will be going to boot camp in April. He has been my rock to lean on for support at times. When I can cry on his shoulder, lean on. He is a great handyman too. But, the best he is he is a great son, and young man. But I have to let go sometime.

I have already seen great changes in him in the last few months. This will be a good thing. When he comes back for vacation he may actually learn to do hospital corners and learn to wash/dry/fold clothes.

Now, for my first exam on the second half of Anatomy and Physiology. I took my first exam on the blood and the heart. I did very well I passed with a "A".

But, for my practical and my last test I did not do well. I thought I studied but I took things for granted. Thought I knew how the tissues looked on the lung and the vascular system. But, I did not.

Then for the exam I studied for the exam on the lung and the vascular system(arteries and veins). I thought I understood it. I understood the concept but when I had to break it down and explain it on the exam. I couldn't. For example I understood the breathing of pressures, but when I had to explain what comes first I couldn't. To understand how and why it happens but explain in detail was a problem.

I think I just have too much on my plate right now. I don't think I should have went to school right now. But, I did and there is nothing I can change. I will have to hope for the best.
